Entrepreneur Tools Episode 3
This is a new series, within Startuprad.io’s YouTube Blog. We meet a lot of people and of course, we talk with some of them about the typical entrepreneur problems. Sometimes an entrepreneur solves known problems in a very systematic way, which we find great, or has great insights. In both cases, we will talk to him or her and bring you these recordings as entrepreneur tools. We are looking forward to your feedback.
This time we talk to Simon Stengelmeier (https://www.linkedin.com/in/simonstegelmeier/), also known as The Data Warrior (https://thedatawarrior.com/). This time we are talking about service design and marketing. Tune in to learn more.

Put Value First
Customer Experience Quotes
“Customer experience better be at the top of your list when it comes to priorities in your organization. Customer experience is the new marketing.” — Steve Cannon, Former Head of Mercedes Benz USA, CEO AMB Group
“Innovation needs to be part of your culture. Customers are transforming faster than we are, and if we don’t catch up, we’re in trouble.” — Ian Schafer, Founder Deep Focus
“The most valuable resource you can give customers is your time. Listen to them to uncover their real needs. Only then can you find a way to solve their problems or meet their expectations. Treat the cause, not just the symptoms.” — Ginger Conlon, Editor-in-chief of Direct Marketing News
“User experience is everything. It always has been, but it’s undervalued and underinvested in. If you don’t know user-centered design, study it. Hire people who know it. Obsess over it. Live and breathe it. Get your whole company on board.” — Evan Williams, Co-Founder of Twitter
Know Your Target Audience / Create a Customer Avatar
What problem are you solving?
Who are you solving a problem for?
Demographics & Psychographics
Where do they “hangout” online/offline?

Craft Your Message
Once you know exactly who your target audience is you can craft a strong message that addresses your specific customer avatar & answers key questions:
What main/core currency will you help them increase?
What metric is used to measure success?
What is the timeline?
What currency/problem will you help them decrease/avoid?
Message = Customer Avatar + (Core Currency + Metric + Timeline) — Problem
“I help established SMEs maximize ROI of their (Big) Data investments by doubling their speed-to-value in 90 days without tech overwhelm.”
Your Signature Solution
Your signature solution is the antidote to your customers’ pain. It is a clear path from where they currently are to where they want to be. This is your customers’ journey from point A to point B and it is your job to provide them with a map that gets them there safely every step of the way.
